TF Failure Empty
PostSubject: TF Failure   TF Failure EmptySun Jun 08, 2014 7:25 am

I have downloaded and installed both version 1.2 and version 2.0 beta and flown them separately. I have a common problem with both versions: A master caution with an "auto TF fail" light. Additionally, the TFR Control Panel (shift+5) on the beta version shows the TFR with two fail lights.

My review of your support forum indicates this problem is due to simconnect losing communication with FSX. As recommended, I have restarted FSX, centered the joystick roll/pitch axis, and widened the null zones for both axis--all to no avail.

I have also reinstalled the latest version of FSCUIP and confirmed the FSUIPCClient.dll file dated 8/29/2012 is installed with the airplane file.

I am running Windows 7 with FSX Acceleration.

The airplane has rapidly become one of my favorites. The standout capability is certainly The TF feature which has eluded me so far.

Any further recommendations on how I might solve this problem?

Thanks. Sam Barrick.

TF Failure Empty
PostSubject: Re: TF Failure   TF Failure EmptySun Jun 08, 2014 6:06 pm

Sam,

I just went though this a week ago myself and had a "bear" of a time. This may take a bit of work but by doing it step by step we may get it boiled down to the problem. In this first part we will see if everything needed is there & trusted.

Part 1

- Do you have any "windows" type error dialog(s) pop up when in the F-111?

- Do the following files exist in these locations?
-> FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\SHRS F-111 Aardvark\PANEL\tf_link.dll
-> FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\SHRS F-111 Aardvark\PANEL\tf_link.ini
-> Also check in \PANEL.AFTI avionics, \panel.C, \PANEL.E, \panel.G, \PANEL.old avionics & finally \PANEL.Pre avionics. The .dll & .ini must be in each of the panel folders.

- Does the following folder exist in this location? with the following file tree?
-> FSX\SimObjects\Misc\TF_RADAR_PROBE
Code:

|   sim.cfg
|
+---model
|       model.cfg
|       TF_RADAR.MDL
|
\---texture
        texture.cfg

- Using Window search or other search tools, do you have at least 3 of the file name "SimConnect.dll" in the following directory "C:\Windows\winsxs"? There should be 3 sub folders in winsxs named the following with a SimConnect.dll in each one.
"x86_microsoft.flightsimulator.simconnect_HASHCODE_10.0.60905.0_none_HASHCODE"
"x86_microsoft.flightsimulator.simconnect_HASHCODE_10.0.61242.0_none_HASHCODE"
"x86_microsoft.flightsimulator.simconnect_HASHCODE_10.0.61259.0_none_HASHCODE"

- Firstly in the "fsx.cfg" located in "C:\Users\USER NAME\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX", does the [Main] section include entries similar to this?
Code:
SimObjectPaths.0=SimObjects\Airplanes
SimObjectPaths.1=SimObjects\Rotorcraft
SimObjectPaths.2=SimObjects\GroundVehicles
SimObjectPaths.3=SimObjects\Boats
SimObjectPaths.4=SimObjects\Animals
SimObjectPaths.5=SimObjects\Misc
User Objects=Airplane, Helicopter

- And finally in the fsx.cfg using search in the [Trusted] section, search for "TF_LINK.DLL". In the results do you find multiple entries such as - ?
Code:
G:\FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\SHRS F-111 Aardvark\panel.pre avionics\TF_LINK.DLL.aicqhhuhealwbetkhulbbaiecclecerqhciazcha=2

The hash code doesn't matter but the "=2" does..

End Part 1

The above checks for proper installation that may be blocked by a virus program, administrator rights, a bad FSX install, or mistrusts of the TF_Link.dll.

The problem you are having will not be caused in any way from FSUIPC.

Let me know the results of your findings and if needed, will have to continue on to Part 2.

Roman

Thank you for your prompt reply. I got as far as "FSX\SimObjects\Misc\TF_RADAR_PROBE" in part one and serious warnings went off in my head accompanied by "off flags" as my eyes rolled back.

Sure enough, I had failed to install the subject folder in the first place. Over time, I have found that I am generally better off extracting an install file to a temporary location and manually copying "sim objects, effects, guages" and the like to their proper locations. This time, I should have used your install file; it would have saved both of us a good deal of time.

At any rate, I appreciate very much your obvious commitment to making the TF work and now that it is up and running I am most happy with the results. You produced a wonderful airplane and now the TF really puts it over the top!

Gratefully, Sam Barrick

Sam,

 Great!  Dealing with Part 2 - "The comings and goings of SimConnect" would have really been a chore.

Hope you're enjoying the aircraft,

Roman
